hello friends! i’m back from an incredible holiday spent in Provence and Paris. a wonderful getaway with my mom – we saw so much. our home base was in Arles, an old ancient Roman city in southern France with lots to see. Van Gogh spent 15 months of his life here painting many of his beautiful works. everywhere we turned, there was something pretty to see. one of my favorites? the painted doors and shutters…couldn’t stop snapping photos of these beauties!
we were lucky enough to stop at three Provencal markets in Arles, Bedoin & St-Remy-de-Provence. we spent every moment we could at the markets & brought home lots of local goodies. the stalls were filled with local cheeses, olives!, sea salt, herbs, fruits & veggies…then we found darling market baskets & bags, scarves, soaps, pottery & more! our suitcases were filled to the top – can’t wait to share some of the items with you at our next vintage pop-up shop!
a highlight by far were the beautiful lavender fields! more soon on a lovely shoot we did with a talented group of new creative friends at a gorgeous hotel and gardens in the countryside & a quick stop in the lavender fields (before a torrential rain & hail storm!). a dream come true to see these fields in full bloom! below is a shoot we did a few days later to try and capture the simple beauty of the lavender fields. a delightful treat as we were notified that this photo of ours was recognized by the lovely Emily Quinton in London as last week’s floral friday winner!
back to unpacking, playing with our new puppy & planning for my August brides! more posts & photos coming soon on our French getaway…xoxo
